FALCON TRACK and field

Track and Field is a sport where students compete in a variety of running, jumping, and throwing events. It introduces young athletes to basic athletic skills, teamwork, and individual goal-setting. .

  • Sprints: Short, fast races like the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes.
  • Middle Distance: Races requiring speed and endurance, usually the 400-meter and 800-meter runs.
  • Long Distance: The 1600-meter run (equivalent to one mile).
  • Relays: Team races (like the 4x100m or 4x400m) where four runners pass a baton.
  • Throws: Field events using lighter, age-appropriate equipment for the shot put and discus
  • Individual Growth: Athletes focus on achieving "personal records" (times) rather than just beating others.
  • Fitness Base: It builds speed, agility, and stamina that benefit all other sports
  • Equipment and Uniforms: Athletes are provided a singlet jersey and shorts - athletes will need good running socks and tennis shoes - spikes are unnecessary and not required at middle school level. High school level requires the athlete to obrtain spike shoes for practice and for events.
